Olivia Immitt has been painting ever since she could pick up a brush. It is something she has always done to re-center herself. Her inspiration comes from observing the natural world and then conveying the plant, animal, fungi, or element into an image that represents the innate knowledge the subject holds. Each painting has hidden messages that are connected to the image. She has a unique style of acrylic painting that is very detailed and paints in mostly black and white, using only a touch of color to accentuate the desired meaning her work holds. 

In addition to teaching herself how to paint, Olivia Immitt also teaches painting classes for others at the local libraries in McCreary, Pulaski, and Whitley Counties. She strongly believes that painting can be used as a form of therapy for mental health because it calms the mind and opens our senses to see things from a different perspective.
